Why fish swim synchronized

<p>"Birch leaves in wind, specifically silver birches," the school spoke as one, declining interruption to the flow. <em>I catch your drift,</em> I said, <em>but how, like sandpipers in midflight, do you know?</em> "Know!" they chuckled lightly, threading a shipwreck. <em>Final question! </em>I called:<em> why do you veer in such tragically beautiful fashion from there to here?</em> There was silence in the ocean for the space of about half an hour. They wigwagged back to stare at me open-mouthed, taking in their atmosphere in vast gulps: "To make you gasp." </p>
